The Monte Rodeo Association will hold its annual convention in this city January 30 and 31. County 4-H Girls Enter Idaho Wool Winners Contest
Lillias Ann Tanner and Lila Foster, both fourth year 4-H clothing club members from Franklin County, have been chosen to enter the Idaho state wool winners dress style contest. Mrs. Ucretia Maughan, county home demonstration agent, announced the event to be held in Boise at two Owyhee hotels Friday evening. Tanner will exhibit a gray dress with tan accessories while Foster shows a contrasting outfit. Mrs. May Foster led 4-H work for 1947. Maughan will accompany the pair on the train trip funded by Franklin County Wool Growers Association, the Livestock Marketing Association, and county 4-H clubs.

Symphony Talent Will Appear in Preston Concert
The Idaho State Symphony Orchestra a 60 piece ensemble will give a full concert in Preston at 8 15 p m Monday Jan 19 under the Business and Professional Women's club and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. Beckstead Dies In Ogden Hospital
Mrs. Phoebe Elizabeth Campbell Beckstead, 77, died Sunday at Ogden Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held in Preston with burial in Whitney cemetery. She was born January 24, 187? in North Ogden, daughter of Moroni and Leora Campbell. Survived by five sons and daughters, 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, five siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

Preston youth Clifford Swainston dies in coasting accident
Clifford Swainston, 18, son of Heber C. Swainston and Sylvia May Campbell Swainston, died after a coasting accident near Preston. Investigating Sheriff Lee Hansen said he and three younger relatives and two Hawkes youths were coasting when their sleds met a car driven by Otis Buck. Clifford, who died at the hospital, left a large family and held a teacher in the seventh ward priesthood. Survivors include his parents seven brothers and several sisters.

The Franklin county infantile paralysis chapter named Mrs Mada Eline as March of Dimes drive chairman for a fourth consecutive year and appointed Daniél Roberts as assistant drive chairman to organize outlying communities.
