George A. Woodruff, longtime soil conservationist in Franklin district, departs for Palmer Alaska to head soil conservation at Wasilla. He will assist Matanuska Valley homesteaders with farming and land use practices to ensure soil and water conservation. Woodruff, Idaho native and University of Idaho graduate, served in World War II and worked on Alaska projects prior to joining Preston.

Young Soloists To Feature With Swanee Singers
