Federal Land Bank lowers new loan rate to seven percent

J. P. Gainer, manager of the Federal Land Bank Association of Preston, announces a reduction in the rate on new loans from 8 percent to 7 percent, effective March 1. The cut will affect current borrowers with 8 percent loans.

New Forest Man Listed Preston Ranger District Leader

Douglas Reid, a Range Conservationist on the Manti La Sal National Forest in Price Utah, is reassigned to the Preston Ranger District effective Feb 21 replacing John Hammond who moves to Salmon National Forest Idaho. Reid holds a BS in Range Management from Brigham Young University and has served on the Manti La Sal since 1966. He and wife Arlene with their nine month old daughter Christina have moved to Preston.
