Confessed Forger Gets 14 Years in State Penitentiary
Orin Marion Jeffries, 38, of Conda formerly from Indiana, sentenced to up to 14 years. His wife Mary Ellen Jeffries, 48, given two years. They were arrested after a suspicious check at a clothing store before Christmas. Police had pursued the couple in multiple Utah counties.

Mrs. Moses Hancey Dies in Preston After Illness
Mrs. Moses Hancey aged 67 died Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Born April 11, 1877 in Franklin, she was daughter of Andrew and Charlotte Adamson. Survived by husband Moses Hancey and children Louise Williams, Douglas Hancey, Neil Hancey, Mildred Jeffers, plus 100 grandchildren and brother John Adamson. Funeral held Wednesday at 1 p m in Preston first ward chapel, burial in Preston city cemetery.

Woodward Place Suffers Second Fire At Farm
A gas brooder exploded causing a fire at Woodward Place east of Franklin early morning. The county fire department arrived at 6 40 a m and found the blaze under control with most damage inside the brooder house. This is Woodward’s second loss this year.

Robert Wall Talbot 84 of Lewiston died at home on Fairview Road Sunday evening after a lingering illness. Born August 30 1860 in Port Elizabeth South Africa he was one of Lewiston's early settlers. He married Martha Sharp in 1886 in the Logan LDS temple. Survivors include Ruben P Talbot Annie Kent Reita Taloci Arvilla Faterson and others.

Franklin youth begins basic training in air force
Jed B Atkinson son of Mr and Mrs A L Atkinson of Franklin enters basic military training with the U S Air Force at Parks APB California.
