Cub River Stockmen Hold Annual Meeting Feb 2
The Cub River Stockmen association held its annual meeting February 2 at the Franklin county courthouse to elect officers and handle grazing plans for 1952 on the national forest allotment. Officers were retained: George Peterson president, A C Hull vice president, Ben Swann secretary treasurer, Ralph Porter and George Burbank on the advisory board. The group voted to place bulls on the range to aid distribution and the advisory board will arrange purchase or lease before grazing opens. Forest officials praised the club's cooperation after reseeding about 1200 acres in upper Snake Creek Litz basin and Worm Creek basins, with permittees curbing grazing to protect new grasses.

Cache Supervisor Frykman reports 12 469 cattle and 60 483 sheep drew part of their annual feed from Cache national forest grazing allotments in the past year. Of cattle 5 954 used Utah ranges and 6 515 were in Idaho. sheep numbers totaled 43 641 in Utah and 16 842 in Idaho. Twenty five percent of grazing fees will return to local counties for schools and roads. Forage production was about 90 percent of normal with slow growth on Bear Lake drainage and above 7500 feet due to cool June. Range improvements included 71 miles of fencing and 1225 acres reseeded in 1951, notably Paris basin. Species varied by soil moisture with smooth brome and other grasses on good soils and crested wheat grass on drier lands. A study area east of Ogden used intermediate wheat grass. Cooperation from forest associations and permit holders aided reseeding efforts.

Preston Fluoridation Plant Installed in Idaho City
Preston installs a water fluoridation system costing about 6850 dollars following city plans and a council vote. Tests show fluorine levels meet recommendations and Lewiston reports a 58 percent drop in tooth decay among seven year olds. The plant, housed over the main reservoir line, feeds fluorine automatically at about 25 cents per person.
