Board elects officers for coming year at chamber meeting

At a recent regular meeting of the junior chamber of commerce board in Nova Scotia the board announced the coming year’s officers. Traffic Fines Set After Stop Sign Violations

Canning Center Records Large Produce Run in Franklin County

The Franklin county canning center reported 59 000 cans processed from July to December closing day, a year’s record. Main items include peas 4 900, string beans 5 000, pork and beans 4 200, tomato juice 8 500, apples 1 800, peaches 5 300, plums 2 300, meats and groups 2 550, and puddings 6 600. The center trained staff and volunteers from Lincoln Orme to Clara Larsen guiding 3 patrons from several counties, with the canning committee listing civic and church representatives.

The Livestock Marketing Association reports 4 360 hogs sold for its membership with total realized value of 283 273 59 dollars. Directors Gaylord Larson Edgar Petterberg Carl Mortensen Thayrje Er Winward stated prices averaged 29 60 per hundredweight as Swift and Company bought the shipment. Preston School District No 201 Finances Show Improvement

Certified public accountant Cleo Swenson reports the Preston School District No 201’s cash condition has improved considerably. The general fund remains in better shape than last year though receivables from April and January were not received this year. Delinquent taxes are at an all-time low and capital assets have modestly increased due to improvements and additions.
