Franklin County sheriffs remind snowmobile owners to follow laws start with registering the unit at the county assessor's office. Registration costs apply and the number must be displayed for operation in Idaho.
Preston Carnegie Library will hold an annual Christmas Story Hour at 11 am on December 24 in the children's room. All city and county children under 10 are invited. The library will be closed through the holidays and reopen on Monday January 3.
State Director Don Winder of the Federal Housing Administration spoke at a Preston public meeting about growth in the rural housing program. He noted a rise from 400 to 1400 housing units per year plus rental and labor housing, with spending up about 24 million dollars. The FHA works with the Future Farmers of America under Build Our American Communities, and the state future farmer president sits on the advisory committee.
