Teotihuacan urban renewal contrasted with modern plans
Dr Irene Millon of the University of Rochester exposes Teotihuacan structures and reforms that transformed a 100000 population city 1500 years ago. Central church authority led the renewal, bulldozing tenements for a grid of blocks and new apartments while taxes were church tithe. The town declined into suburbia as downtown eroded and cities learned little from the past.
