Dorothey R Jensen Dies in Dayton Hospital Rites Monday

Dorothy R. Jensen of Dayton died in Preston hospital on Wednesday. Born April 2 1915 in Stone, she married LaVar E. Jensen in 1945. She was an active LDS member and chorister. Funeral services set for Monday at 1 p.m. in the Dayton ward chapel. Burial in Dayton cemetery.

West Side High Presents Christmas Week Activities

West Side High School schedules a Christmas week program starting Monday December 20 with the chorus and groups performing at the Weston ward chapel at 8 PM The event titled The Spirit of Christmas is directed by Marion Hill music teacher and open to the public. West Side Five Opens Season With Wins And Losses

West Side Pirates started December 3 by defeating North Cache High 45 to 38. Player highlights include man of the evening with 15 points Balls 10 McKay and Porter nine each for the Pirates. North Cache top scorers were eagle 14 and Porter nine. The first quarter tied 10-10 before West Side pulled ahead. A rematch at North Cache Thursday saw a 28 to 38 loss with Tingey scoring 10 for North Cache and Neagle nine for North Cache. Christmas Cantata at Preston High School Monday

Death of Chester Schmidt Christensen in Salt Lake City

Chester Schmidt Christensen 65 of Preston died in a Salt Lake City hospital Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. He married Alice Calkins May 28, 1913 in Preston and served in multiple church roles. Survivors include his wife, four children, 16 grandchildren, and a brother and three sisters.

Keller Dies at 63 in Preston Community

Herman Wilford Keller 63 died Tuesday after a brief illness. He was born February 1891 in Mink Creek, Utah, and lived much of his life in Preston ward. Survived by wife Mary Evans Keller and children, with brothers and sisters listed. Funeral services set for Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Franklin Stakehouse. viewing Friday at Webb Funeral Home and Saturday until service time. Burial in Preston Cemetery.

Longtime Preston star DeLyle H Condie, son of Mr and Mrs P M Condie, stars for the University of Utah basketball squad this season. The 20 year old sophomore is praised as a standout outside shooter and solid defender. Condie, a Preston High School graduate, is a pre med student and plays forward on a squad regarded as one of Utahs finest in school history.
