Beer theft leads to burglary charges in Franklin area
About 21 cases of beer stolen from a Franklin tavern were recovered by the Franklin County Sheriff’s department. Brad Hull and Neal Oky McQueen, both of Preston, face nighttime burglary charges. two juveniles were questioned. Beer found in Fairview, Whitney, Mapleton and Franklin. Hull admitted involvement. McQueen implicated by Hull. Hull and McQueen worked at Cal Pack. hull allegedly broke into the Diamond Stud in Franklin to gain entry.

Pfc Clyde R Coburn 20 of Preston dies from gunshot wounds while firefighting in Vietnam. Parents Cecil and Mig Coburn of Preston receive word on Monday the same day a Christmas card arrived. He was born July 10 1947 and was Preston High School class of 1965. He attended Utah State University and served two months in Vietnam after training at Fort Lewis Fort Polk and Fort Knox. He leaves ten brothers and other relatives.
