He argued they are split by tradition and religion, and that misreading their ethics and beliefs led to Pearl Harbor. Youth Fined For Reckless Driving Near Preston
Jack Jensen, 21, of the Shoe string area near Preston was fined 25 dollars in Justice of Peace Roy Greaves court for reckless driving. He reportedly drove negligently down Main Street last Saturday night and attacked two officers, Bill Head and Dave Davis, knocking them down at State and First South. The officers were bruised and Jensen pled guilty.

December Call Inductions Extend To Ft Douglas And Pocatello
Franklin county's November contingent for the armed forces will be inducted into active duty by Friday. The marine and naval candidates left recently while the remaining Army recruits report at Ft Douglas on Friday. The December call will be filled by about one third single men one third married without children and one third family men in nonessential occupations. They will go to Pocatello on December 13 and take the examination on the 14th. The December quota matches November. Two Mormon Battalion Marines Wounded in Action
Parents of Howard Bennett and Vernon Hulse report both sons wounded in action on the South Pacific front. Bennett, son of Mr and Mrs A Bennett of Thatcher, was wounded in early October while with the Third Division Mormon Battalion. Hulse, son of Mr and Mrs Wm Hulse, wrote of wounds received November 7 and later was released from hospital with a Purple Heart citation. The two brothers enlisted together, served closely, and both joined the Mormon Battalion after missions in the Northern states.
