Tri County Range Bull Sale Planned

University of Idaho Extension hosts an agricultural range bull selection and management school on Thursday April 10 at 12 30 p m. at Jack Gibbs farm south of Grace on Highway 34. Lectures cover foot trimming safety breeding soundness inspection ultrasonic rib eye measurement and yield grading with experts including Dr Stan Hall Dr Richard Hall Dr Leon Orme and Ed Duren.

Legion To Receive Flag Pole and Flag

Mrs Donnie Poage will present a flagpole and an American Flag to the American Legion and Auxiliary at a dinner meeting Saturday night at 8 pm in the Legion hall. Accepting will be Mrs Bill Auger and Wayne Swann. Speakers include Elton Ashton and Hewitt Hawkes marking the Legion’s golden anniversary.

Cars Roll Into Ditch After Tire Blowout Near Preston

Two crashes reported near Preston and Dayton cause $1000 and $300 in damages. Ray Lindsay of Idaho Falls cited for failing to report an accident after his tire blew out and caused a rollover two miles south of Preston. Rodney Choules of Clifton fell asleep and drove into a canal three miles north of the old Dayton depot at 2 a.m.

Julie Bingham of Weston named secretary of Idaho State Future Homemakers of America and, with Nancy Porter, earns the State Homemaker degree at the Lewiston convention. West Side FHA wins Rose chapter honor and second in state for a Valentine’s Day community service project at Opportunity School in Preston.

New Head Named For Rotary Preston Club

Douglas Webb, funeral director, was named president of the Preston Rotary Club this week, succeeding Ross Rasmussen. Officers include Ted Steers, Niel Nelson, and Ralph Millar, with new directors Gordon Ward, Richard Hendricks, and DeVon Van Noy. Standing directors are O. D. Robinson, Jim Tasso, and Bill Shumway. Ivan Davis, Preston High basketball coach, spoke at the meeting with the team as guests.

Water Board Rejects Bear River Water Give Away Plan

The Idaho Water Resource Board adopted a policy statement in Jerome to deny plans to give Bear River water to Utah. Chairman Charles Marshall said negotiators will seek division based on annual average unconsumed flow of about 900,000 acre feet. Critics include Dr Evan Kackley and State Senator Reed Budge.

Franklin County Dairy Drives High Income for Farm Families

Franklin County dairy farming leads with the highest gross income in the area and supports more than 459 farm families. County Agent Daniel Roberts notes an average herd of 20 milking cows with replacements. annual production around 270,000 pounds per day statewide and 96,550,000 pounds yearly. The 1968 milk price averaged 4.37 dollars per cwt FOB, giving a rough county total income near 4.4 million dollars from dairy products.

Four Licenses Suspended and Local Wool Sale Notice

Four driver's licenses have been suspended in Franklin Caribou county. Names include Garth Owen Preston Ricky Lloyd Ryan Hale and Bill Wilson Willingham.
