Air Crash Kills Idaho Democrat Governor Candidate
Idaho Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charles Herndon died after a small Apache Jet crash in rugged wilderness near Stanley. Rescue crews reached the scene eight miles from the road. two other men died and the pilot was seriously injured. Herndon, a lawyer and farmer, was a Salmon state senator and had planned to meet with National Guard officials and local business leaders. The crash killed Robert L. Baldwin and Lloyd Q.
