Hijacked Frontier jet lands in Atlanta with hostages
An Atlanta bound Frontier Airlines Boeing 737 carrying three people aboard was hijacked from a Nebraska airport by Thomas Hannan. It landed in Atlanta where 11 hostages remained, while eight other passengers and a number of crew were released in Kansas City. McDonnell Douglas gives Douglas Aircraft Co. a go ahead for production of the BC-3 Super 30 twinjet after securing more than 400 million dollars in firm orders from Southern Airways Austrian Airlines Swissair and others.
