Price protest by farmers tractors roll into Plains
Plains Ga AP Hundreds of tractors and tracks filled the main street as farmers gathered to press for government help on farm prices. The march went toward a field near Carter's home while Carter was at Camp David. Local officials estimated thousands would join, with signs like Hell No We Won't Grow and America Grew Up to the Farms. The movement, led by American Agriculture, seeks a floor price to cover costs and profits, with a Dec 14 strike threat. A flyover by crop dusters is planned to show support, and another tractor parade is planned for Atlanta on Dec 10.
