Panel backs more minority hires in higher education
A Sacramento select committee on the Master Plan for Higher Education urged increasing recruitment of women and minority professors over the next decade. The 140 page report urged year round school planning and funding new instructional approaches using electronic and mass media, while expanding the council's advisory powers. It notes private colleges will need more state funds and oversight, UC and CSUC tuition policies should reflect ability to pay, with aid for those who cannot.
