A New York judge ruled a landlord may discriminate against so called intelligent tenants using occupation as a basis for renting, drawing swift criticism as absurd. Experts say such a standard lacks legal precedent and would not hold in most cities, with several officials noting anti discrimination laws do not yet cover intelligence or profession.
