Tax-appeal boards clash over Proposition 15
Two Board of Supervisors members, Hahn and Debs, clash on Proposition 15 to create tax appeals boards. Hahn calls the $1.2 million five-board cost excessive while Debs and Hollinger dispute the figure and argue the boards would give taxpayers a fairer chance to appeal. Debs says the current system is unfair and promises taxpayer relief if Proposition 15 passes, while Hahn warns postcards notifying taxpayers could boost petitions and delay appeals.
