Long Beach Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents four members in a Tuesday 8 p.m. recital at the First Church of Christ Scientist on Elm Avenue. Performers include Mrs Rhee Young Mrs Shelby Barnard Frederick Shaffer and Samuel Schurr with baritone William Womack.

Lakewood Baptists Set Rites at West Lakewood Church
The West Lakewood Baptist Church will hold a 3 p.m. dedication service Sunday at 5121 Hayter Ave with Dr. George Downing, Executive Secretary of the Southern California Baptist Convention, delivering the address. A social hour follows. The church, organized in December 1935, is now completed and future plans include adding more buildings to the plant. The mission began under Calvary Baptist Long Beach and received aid from First Baptist Long Beach and First Baptist Downey, said Rev. George Markham.

Little Church With Big Welcome Closed At Seaside Boulevard
The Little Church with the Big Welcome will close Sunday at 1401 W Seaside Blvd after 19 years serving as the Seaside Baptist Mission. The Harbor Commission will demolish the bungalow to make way for a highway, moving services to the Chapel of the Goodwill Industries at 457 Golden Ave. The Rev Frank Craig Woods, chaplain to the Long Beach Council of Churches and longtime mission leader, says membership should rise at the new site and notes the new slogan will be The Little Church with the Future.

Delay on integration decision at Southern District conference
NEW ORLEANS (2) The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Southern District postponed a decision on church integration until next year's conference. Delegates voted to wait for further discussion. The district, covering Louisiana Mississippi Alabama Georgia and Florida, instructed its board to negotiate with Negro conferences in the area to gauge opinions on integration.

Protestant Contributions to Churches Sets Record
The National Council of Churches reported that the average American Protestant gives 56.74 dollars yearly, a record high. Total Protestant contributions from 52 bodies reached 2.0439 billion dollars, 81 percent for local church expenses and 19 percent for missions and benevolence. The Adventists lead with 202.02 per member, followed by several small groups. among major denominations the highest per member gifts were Southern Presbyterians and Reformed Church at 88.56.
