Long Beach Man Sues Sitmar Over Ship Illness
A Long Beach man, Jess W. Grundy, 58, and his wife claim illness struck 80 passengers on Sitmar Cruises April 23 aboard the TSS Fairsea. Grundy says the couple fell ill shortly after the voyage began and again after returning home, tying the sickness to Sitmar’s food and beverages supplied by Transmarine Navigation. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, targets Sitmar Cruises and the supplier, Bateman Biehler Hill Richards Inc., alleging intestinal illness traced to onboard meals.
