Strike of retail clerks inverted at last minute
WASHINGTON UPS A strike by 53,000 retail food store clerks in Southern California has been averted for at least 30 days by a government mediation agency. The Food Employers Council and Retail Clerks International Association accepted a 20 day fact finding procedure to prevent a work stoppage scheduled to begin at midnight.
