Dental courses scrapped at Cypress College
State officials rejected two two year dental technician and hygienist courses planned at Cypress College after the North Orange County Community College District approved $200000 in lab equipment. The chancellors office cited lack of evidence of need or job opportunities in the Southland. Orange Coast College and other area schools already offer comparable programs. Cypress College faced a setback as district trustees had awaited tentative approval to outfit the programs. Registration for Long Beach State University summer sessions is open with mail through May 27.
