A Sacramento beat notes rising bee activity as swarms invade downtown and residential areas. Poundmaster George P. Marth, hospitalised after a vicious swarm, reports daylong calls from concerned residents. Beekeepers are overwhelmed. residents wait for the swarms to hive up for summer.
Disaster workers and volunteers battled floodwaters across several southern rivers forcing about 3,000 from homes and causing millions in damage. Thunderstorms with tornadoes struck north central Texas while the Big Sandy river was poised to crest in Kentucky. Red Cross rushed disaster workers to Kentucky and West Virginia as shelters housed 225 families in West Virginia and a Red River levee fight continued at East Point Louisiana with 575 airmen aiding efforts.
Four Kentucky state representatives including House majority leader Addisor J Everett face charges of solicitation of bribery. Indictments named Everett Hobart Rayburn Edwin Kubale Jr. and Robert L. Guilette after a three week investigation by the Franklin County Grand Jury.
