Retired teachers in Long Beach stay active and involved
Members of the Long Beach division of the California Retired Teachers Association reveal retirement as a new phase of life. The 110 completed surveys show wide volunteer activity and membership in political, business and fraternal groups. Notable figures include Mrs. Thelma Henderson, Mrs. Vna Potter, Carl Dobbs, and sisters Margaret and Elizabeth Burkill, all contributing as educators, organizers, travelers, and community leaders through teaching, consulting, travel lectures, parliamentary work, real estate, conservation, and charitable service.
