Christmas card design winners named two Long Beach teens
Two Long Beach high school girls won awards in the first annual Christmas Card Design Contest for the Auxiliary to Long Beach Children's Clinic. Carol Jelen, 16, a Millikan junior, won $25. Laurie Bloomquist, 17, a Jordan senior, won $10. Cards go on sale in August at the clinic open house to raise funds for the United Way agency serving Long Beach children for 29 years.
