Last Lafayette Escadrille ace Parsons dies at 75 in Florida
Rear Admiral Edwin C. Parsons, famed Lafayette Escadrille ace of World War I, died in a Sarasota hospital at age 75. Born in Holyoke Massachusetts, he trained as a pilot in 1912 and served in Mexico before joining the French unit. He later earned multiple decorations and served as an FBI agent and Hollywood script writer before retiring from the Navy in 1954.
