Reagan outlines local labor acts barring city strikes
Gov. Reagan proposed legislation on local public employee labor relations, banning local government strikes and creating a governor-appointed board to handle unfair practices and elections. The plan keeps final salary decisions with locally elected bodies and excludes teachers transit workers and state employees. A fatal accident at Eagle Mountain involved Ray Crowley, 7, killed when a rescue pickup ran him over after he jumped from a sliding Kaiser Steel mine truck.
