Lend tech pension bill clears first hurdle in Senate
In Sacramento the Senate Business and Professions Committee backed Sen. George Deukmejian's pension vesting measure. The bill now moves to the Industrial Relations and Finance committees with amendments aligning vesting to a three-path system and the 45 rule. Lawmakers heard emotional testimony from workers and noted concerns from labor and industry about administrative costs and interstate pension regulation.
