Long Beach Police Report Auto Theft and Notable Obituary
Auto theft report from Marsha Sharp at 321 St Joseph Ave. A windwing was forced open and a tape deck plus tapes valued at 160 dollars were stolen. Friday services at 11 a.m. in Mottell's Mortuary for Dale C. Southwick, 54, former Our Gang actor and Poly High School graduate. He lived at 8755 Atlantic Ave. and died Monday in a Compton hospital. He worked as a Sears salesman for 35 years and was active in Moose Lodge and Lakewood Church youth programs. He studied drama at Poly with Lillian V Breed and others and appeared in Our Gang via Hal Roach connections. He was also a musician with Spike Jones Orchestra and performed a TV magic act. Surviving are his wife Adeline and two daughters.
