Imbler walks free after California murder conviction reversal
Paul K. Imbler, once on death row for the 1961 holdup murder of Morris Hassan, was released from Folsom Prison after the California Supreme Court overturned his murder conviction. His parole follows a lengthy appeals battle aided by criminologist Le Moyne Snyder and journalist Kid Montgomery. Imbler, once told he faced the gas chamber, described the release as unreal and pledged to help unjustly convicted inmates.
