Cranston Seeks U S Ban on Supersonic Jets Landing
Sen. Alan Cranston with Sen. Edward Muskie and Claiborne Pell proposes two Senate resolutions to bar foreign SST landings and limit SSTs to subsonic speeds over the United States. The moves aim to keep SSTs out until noise standards match subsonic planes, citing Concorde noise levels and potential property damage from sonic booms.
