Amateur talent shines in Long Beach Follies benefit show
New York director Tom Carthal leads 32 directors with Cargill agency in rehearsals for a three week prep. Proceeds from Friday and Saturday at Millikan High School go to Parents Without Partners for children from broken homes. The show features five major numbers, a balloons finale, and a 40 balloon routine. About 18 to 20 children perform High Hopes on stage. Dress rehearsal Thursday at 5 p.m. is open to senior citizens and nursing home patrons. Tickets cost 4 for adults and 2 for children.
