Otis Redding Record Goes Gold in Memphis Ceremony
Mrs. Otis Redding accepted a gold copy of Dock of the Bay in Memphis Sunday night. It was his last record before his death in a Madison Wisconsin plane crash on December 10 1967. The song ranked No 1 in Billboard and exceeded a million in sales. Jim Stewart of Stax-Volt Records presented the award during the ceremony.

Shriver may back out of France ambassador bid
Diplomats in Paris report that R Sargent Shriver plans to withdraw from his nomination as ambassador to France and instead back New York Senator Robert F Kennedy in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
