California Supreme Court reversed the conviction of Robert Lee Murdock for knowingly driving with a suspended license. The court ruled his frequent moves prevented proper DMV notification that his license was suspended.
J Norman Jones 46 former president of Hollywood National Bank was found guilty by a federal court jury of mail fraud and conspiracy to commit mail fraud in a scheme that stole over 1 million dollars from Hollywood National Bank and the Chicago State Bank of Minneapolis. Co defendants Edward Temple Robert Erickson Marion Augustyn confessed earlier to fraud charges. Sentencing set for March 25 before Judge Peirson M Hall. Dynamite mailings were reported in San Francisco with four sticks recovered and notes claiming nine had been mailed.
