Sir Edward Wilshaw, who rose from telegraph office boy to head a world spanning network, died in London at age 88. He joined Eastern Telegraph Co before his 15th birthday, became GM and secretary of Imperial and International Communications Ltd in 1920, and later chairman. Knighted in 1959, he served until retirement and left two daughters.

Man Arrested While Visiting Mrs Kennedy at Fifth Avenue

Fire officials said about 200 persons were routed from three plush Miami Beach motels when fires broke out within minutes of each other. The Colonial Inn sustained the most serious blaze with guests helped down ladders from the ocean side recreation room as alarms sounded at nearby motels and at a Woods fire block away.
