Boy survives seven hours in shaft during California rescue
A six year old boy named Anthony fell into a shaft at a road project site near the San Bernardino Freeway while flying a kite. Rescue teams used a diesel drill and a parallel shaft to reach him after seven hours of careful tunneling. He remained awake and cried for his father as workers pulled him out and flew him to a medical center.
