Monumental 200th birthday plan linked by Rosenblum
Chicago attorney Marvin J. Rosenblum envisions a coast to coast Stand Across the Nation event for America’s bicentennial. He proposes a human chain of about 40 million people, averaging 1,820 per mile, standing 40 feet apart, stretching sea to sea to symbolically unite the United States. He sought input from corporations, the Bicentennial Committee, the White House, and Senator Edward M. Kennedy, but received little interest and no response.
