Speck to be examined by panel of psychiatrists

Chicago reports that defense lawyer Gerald Getty asked for a panel of eminent psychiatrists to examine Richard Speck, charged with eight murders, and to include electroencephalograms to check for brain disorders. Getty plans to plead Speck innocent at arraignment and seek mental exam. Speck’s health has improved in jail hospital while he faces the indictments filed after July 17.
