Intercontinental missile convoy disrupts Springfield traffic
A six-truck Air Force convoy carrying a four foot Atlas missile entered Springfield on U S 40 toward Wright Patterson AFB. The rocket pad sheared off an electric pole, blocking rush hour traffic and cutting east side power for over three hours. The missile was barely scratched. In Decatur Illinois police raid 24 bottles of home brew were seized and ten had started fermenting in the evidence room.
