Rockwell Trade Could Swap Laguna Niguel Plant for Federal Properties
Rockwell International plans a one to one swap with the federal government involving its vacant six story Laguna Niguel plant on 1300 adjacent acres. The General Services Administration would receive the building and land in exchange for existing federally held facilities. Federal antitrust and House committee approvals loom, with no disclosed specifics on which federal properties will be exchanged. Local tax impact cited as a loss of about one million dollars for Orange County, affecting San Juan Capistrano School District and Moulton Niguel Water District. An estimated 10,000 workers may move to the site, though用途 remains unconfirmed.
