Navy Missile Testers Protect Ships off Mugu
Navy units guard a 150 mile offshore test range from Point Mugu to San Nicolas Island. Patrol boats and planes deter unauthorized craft as radar and electronic gear monitor the vast sea area. When a target is detected, ships are warned via loudspeakers while assets coordinated with Coast Guard and Air Force bases oversee the range.
