Red subversives used Grand Cayman Island, says State Dept
The State Department says no recent moves to stop Grand Cayman Island as a transfer point for Cuban subversives. Press Officer Richard J Phillips noted discussions with Britain on June 7 and June 26. About 20 potential subversives were flown from Cuba via Grand Cayman to other Western Hemisphere countries, with four picked up in El Salvador. Costa Rican officials report seven subversives arrived from Cuba via Grand Cayman and were deported, while 15 others remain sought.
