Lion Pit Tragedy In Portland Zoo Teasing Youth Dies
An 11 foot lion pit at the Portland zoo claimed the life of a youth named Adams after he leaned over a fence to tease big cats during a city holiday celebration. Witnesses say the youth was dragged into the pit by a lion as guards used searchlights to locate the body. Authorities reported later the boy died from a broken neck and loss of blood.
