Bomb explosions rock Belfast and Londonderry
UPI reported several bomb blasts hit Belfast and Londonderry as Britain kept troops in Northern Ireland. A recruiting center was destroyed in Belfast and a Roman Catholic school fire was set. In Londonderry a house was firebombed with minor damage. Reginald Maulding asserted no change in the status without local consent. James Callaghan blamed the IRA and Protestant groups as the main violent forces.
