Kangaroo court charged in shotgun slaying case

In Long Beach Superior Court prosecutors allege that a June 12 shotgun killing of 51 year old Benjamin Gregory followed a five minute kangaroo court verdict in the street. The defendants Ron Greissett and Raymond Harris are accused of revenge for a prior narcotics and gun theft, with Harris implicated by statements and Greismet allegedly identified as the shooter.

Long Beach Sailor Charged In Cab Death

A 23 year old Long Beach sailor aboard the USS Kansas City faced arraignment in Long Beach Superior Court on one count each of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunken driving. He allegedly drove at 90 mph on Ocean Boulevard Bridge, causing a cab to crash and plunge into the Los Angeles River killing Kenneth Duckworth. Divers recovered the body after two hours in rain swollen water.
