Time bomb effect of pregnancy drug feared
New York United Press International reports concerns about a pregnancy drug DES affecting unborn children. Dr Arthur Herbst leads a Massachusetts General Hospital registry noting cases of genital tract cancer risk in females aged 10 to 25 whose mothers used DES or related estrogens during pregnancy, with tentative but alarming mortality and recurrence rates.
