Nursing Field Wide Open Says Pattern of Disease
There are more nurses in America yet shortages persist across hospitals and counties. The Patterns of Disease report notes nursing positions remain unfilled, budgets underfilled, and many wards closed for lack of staff. It projects 5200 new master's level nurses yearly by 1965, but only 997 granted that degree in the study year.
