A former bus conductor from Brighton, Charles John Kerr, 33, inherits the title Lord Teviot of Burghelere after the death of his 52 year old father, a longtime Liberal figure. Kerr and his wife Mary, a former bus conductor, were once employed by the Brighton Bus Co and later by a local supermarket. The family lawyers could not immediately locate him.

Two Russian Doctors Guilty of Store Theft in London
In Marlborough Police Court London two Russian doctors on a private inclusive tour were found guilty of stealing three men's pullovers and two women's sweaters from a London store.
