The FDA plans batch by batch certification for the heart drug digoxin after some samples failed to meet dissolution standards. Digoxin aids a failing heart beat more forcefully and is used by about 3.5 million Americans annually. studies since 1971 show some pills are less effective despite compliance with physical and chemical federal standards.

Amtrak ridership rises while trains face delays nationwide
