Fire origins described by cannery worker at Star Kist plant
Cannery worker Jack Sardisco recounts smoke and a pipe flare that sparked a fire at Star Kist's Terminal Island cannery. He details the moment flames swept the room, the immediate smoke, and the rescue actions by security guard Roman Villamor who raised the alarm as fire crews were summoned. Sardisco saved his time clock and the American flag before escaping.
